BrandGen vs Kittl Brand Studio
Kittl is a design canvas, and Brand Studio applies a brand kit imported from your URL to its workflows and templates. BrandGen is a prompt-first generator of on-brand marketing images.
·
Kittl is a design platform: an infinite canvas editor, templates, mockups, vector tools, and AI image, vector and video generators. In September 2026 it launched Brand Studio, the place where your brand kit lives inside Kittl and gets applied to what you make. BrandGen is not a design canvas. It generates marketing images from a prompt, conditioned on your Brand DNA.
Two different production models
In Kittl, Brand Studio holds a brand kit: colors, fonts, logo and graphics. You paste your website or store URL and it imports them, or you build the kit from scratch. Then you switch on Apply brand in an AI workflow, or apply the kit to a template in one click, and keep editing on the canvas.
In BrandGen, you upload one reference image, enter your website, or paste your written guidelines. BrandGen extracts a Brand DNA spec (palette, typography, visual style, tone), and every image you generate is conditioned on it. There is no layout to edit: you re-prompt or refine the result.
What Kittl Brand Studio is great at
- Setup from a link. Paste a URL and your colors, fonts, logo and graphics come in as a kit you can change.
- A full editor afterwards. Results open in the Kittl editor, so you can change colors, text, layout and styling.
- Breadth of formats. Templates and workflows cover product listings, mockups, packaging, labels, merch, ads and social posts.
- AI workflows with your brand. Campaigns, product imagery and launch videos can pull from your kit and multiple product images.
One thing Kittl itself notes: if you update your brand after applying it to a design, existing designs do not update automatically. You apply the brand again.
Where BrandGen is the right tool
- Generation, not layout. Describe the marketing image you need and BrandGen generates it, with no template or canvas work.
- Your real logo as a reference. When BrandGen has your logo, it attaches that exact file as a reference image on generation, so the mark is not redrawn from memory.
- Brand rules beyond a kit. Brand DNA captures visual style and tone as well as colors and type, and it shapes every prompt.
