BrandGen vs Pomelli
Pomelli is Google Labs' AI marketing experiment that builds campaigns from your website. BrandGen generates on-brand marketing images from one reference or your guidelines, with your logo attached as a reference.

Pomelli is an AI marketing tool from Google Labs and Google DeepMind, built for small and medium-sized businesses. You give it your website, it builds a profile of your brand, and it suggests and generates whole social campaigns. BrandGen is narrower on purpose: it generates marketing images, and keeps your logo, colors and style accurate while it does.
Two different starting points
Pomelli starts from your website. It analyzes the site (and, if you opt in, your Google Business Profile) to build a Business Profile with your fonts, colors, tone and images. No website yet? You can upload files, chat with Pomelli Agent, or start from a template.
BrandGen starts from one reference image, your website, or your written brand guidelines. It extracts a Brand DNA spec (palette, typography, visual style, tone) that you can review and edit, and every prompt after that is conditioned on it.
What Pomelli is great at
- Campaign ideas, not just images. Pomelli proposes tailored campaign ideas, so you do not have to come up with the angle yourself.
- More than social posts. From the same profile it can run product Photoshoots from a catalog, generate a brand book, and stand up a website.
- In-tool editing. You can edit the text and images of generated assets before downloading them.
- Currently no charge. Google's help center says Pomelli can be used at no charge during the experiment, within generation caps.
It is an early Labs experiment, available in supported countries, and Google says it will change based on feedback.
Where BrandGen is different
- Your logo goes in as a reference. When BrandGen has your logo, it attaches that exact file as a reference image on generation, instead of asking the model to redraw your mark. Google's own Pomelli help center advises reviewing every image before publishing, because AI can sometimes modify fine details like colors, logos or textures.
- You decide the asset. Describe the image you need, pick the aspect ratio and the model, and get several variations to choose from and refine.
- Brand DNA you can edit. The extracted spec is visible in the project's Brand DNA editor, so you can correct a color or a tone rule once and every later image follows it.
Side by side
Pomelli, from Google Labs and Google DeepMind, turns your website into a Business Profile, then suggests campaigns, product Photoshoots, brand books and websites. BrandGen is a focused image generator: Brand DNA conditions every prompt.
